Off the Grid
About this blog
111 countries have been stamped into my passports over the years, and this collection of ink poses a most unusual problem. Since I highly doubt my future travel plans call for fighting the tourist crowds in Iraq, Yemen and the like, the easy to get to places are becoming quite scarce. Oh the serious problems that life throws at us.
This trip will take on some places I've already been like Colombia and Guatemala, and I hope to explore a little more of the countryside this time around. Hopefully I can mix in a few places where the average tourist wouldn't dare dirty the bottoms of his shoes. In other words, less city, more nature. I've got a few multiday treks planned in Guatemala, some kayaking in the Yucatan, a trek up Macchu Picchu and a ride down the Amazon coming up. I also am looking into a five day sailboat ride from Panama to Colombia to cross over since overland isn't possible through the Darien Gap.
Thank you for tuning into this third installment of my around the world misadventures. I hope something along the way will inspire you to find your own adventures.
