About this blog

We're baaaackkkk! Traveling on the MV Explorer once again, for an enrichment voyage lasting 2 weeks.

For those that aren't familiar with Semester at Sea, it's a University program emphasizing education through travel. Usually these voyages last an entire semester - about 4 months -, but between semesters (in this case post-spring, pre-summer) they offer shorter "enrichment voyages"

Our first voyage was Spring of 2009. At that time, both Matthew and I were teaching classes. Matthew taught 3 music classes, and gave 13 concerts around the world. I taught 1 "Dances of the Word" class where my students learned 7 styles of dance from countries on our itinerary. During this voyage, Matthew is teaching an intensive seminar to 10 students, called The EcoSono Institute. This is a marriage of sound, environmentalism and ecology, and what they are coming up with is magic. I am not currently teaching anything (though sweetly have been asked to do so by some of the other travelers). Instead, I'm taking care of Barrett and my-6-months'-pregnant-self. It's a different kind of exciting adventure!

Enjoy!!
