Sailing a 33ft Yacht from Scotland to the Azores
About this blog
We set sail from Scotland, near Oban, sailed down the west coast of Ireland and out into the Atlantic ocean. The Azores are an archipelago of nine main island. The islands lie on a parallel with Lisbon, Portugal, on latituties 39o 43'/36o 55'N and are Portuguese territory. Our skipper Rev. Bob Shepton, is an experienced, well known yachtsman. The crew will just be Rob, myself and Mark Mckellar; we all met while teaching skiing in Verbier, last winter. We are expecting the voyage to take between 15-20 days and then hope to spent some time sailing around the islands.
