Jordan? Why Jordan? That was the first reaction of most that heard I was using my long awaited vacation. It was just an off-beat place where I would not be just another tourist that everyone wanted to rip off and they had an option of visa on arrival. I had also developed a fascination for seeing all wonders of the world and this trip would take the total count to 3, with the addition of Petra.

I was a little nervous about the visa on arrival part, but then after numerous internet blogs, confirmation from some friends and a verification by our travel agent, I decided to give it a try. For some strange reason they wanted me to carry JOD 1000 per person in cash for the visa on arrival, even though I had credit cards, etc.
