Viva Las Vegas!
About this blog
My cousin's destination wedding was at the Golden Nugget Wedding Chapel, Las Vegas. The wedding was at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 28th so Andy and I left on the Thursday before to get a head start on site seeing. We booked a vacation package through Southwest Airlines that included a 5-night stay at the Bellagio. Prior to leaving for Vegas, we made a reservation for two at the Prime Steakhouse in the Bellagio with a table close to the patio so we could see the Bellagio fountains. To ensure we got the best seats possible, we purchased two tickets for "O" by Cirque du Soleil as soon as they went on sale. Also in advance, we booked a 10-hour Grand Canyon tour from Las Vegas that included a bus ride by the Hoover Dam, through the Joshua Tree Forest, to Eagle Point and Guano Point; both on the West Rim. An optional addition to the tour that we elected to indulge in, from Eagle Point, we took a helicopter ride over the West Rim, down to the Colorado River, where we cruised on a pontoon boat a ways up and down the river. Then back on the bus to Guano Point, West Rim. The rest of the days spent in Vegas were filled with site seeing on the strip and downtown. Exciting trip!!
