Tropical Storm Sendong
About this blog
This is just a photographic journal, of the pictures taken during and after TS Sendong. Unfortunately, my camera was waterlogged during the event, dispite my best efforts to waterproof it. But the effects of the massive amount of water released over such a short time, on such a small area are plain to see. Negros Oriental Tourism is business as usual, with just a slight dissruption in services !
Currently the Status of the tourist destinations are as follows.
Updated 07/02/12
Casaroro Falls - Open to the Public at present - Boulder bashing all the way to the falls, but they are still HUGE, loud and spectacular, certainly worth the stair climb to get out.
Twin Lakes - Roadway suffered from landslide - Impassable to ALL types of motorvehicle, passable on foot however 4 kms walk from landslide.
Tejeros Swimming Pools - Closed currently filled with mud and debris - Using water from the river to flush out all the mud, its working slowly but simple and effective idea
Red Rock waterfalls - Pulanbato - OPEN, The road has been opened up a little more, now accessible to motor vehicles, but still a short hike to get to - new pool open as normal. (falls and surrounding rocks no longer so red !)
Red Rock Hot Spring - Open (Although no one was around when i went to ask ?
Forest Camp - Re-opened 24th Dec.
Japanese Shrine - Accessible via the Palinpinon Road.
Baslay Hot Spring - CLOSED - Pools are filled with rocks and mud, however the sulphur vents and hot water are still flowing normally. Despite no swimming pools its still a nice place to visit.
Lake Balanan - Open as Normal

Please Donate the Sendong charities and help those who have lost everything . . . . . . and i really mean EVERYTHING !
