In year 2002, while Backpacking through Thailand, we promised ourselves that we would one day visit Vietnam. In March of 2009 we made the decision to visit Vietnam this winter.

In April of 2009 we decided to include Cambodia in our trip as it bordered with Vietnam.

In May of 2009 we decided to include Laos in our trip as it also bordered with Vietnam.

In June of 2009 we decided to include China in our trip as it also bordered with Vietnam. Fortunately Vietnam does not share a border with any other country.

We booked our flights to leave Canada on December 13, 2009 for Ho Chi Minh City and then to leave Bejing China on April 2, 2010 to return to Winnipeg
