The rain was supposed to stop around 10pm, but it didn't! During the 2+ hours we were hanging out at the parking lot, Azrael had actually made some kind of contraption with some string to help the wipers move! Hahahahahahahahaha!! It was most hilarious!!!

Alas, the rain showed no sign of stopping. I sat there and prayed and prayed. And suddenly, the windscreen wipers came back to life!!! We sat there for a couple of minutes to test its reliability. It seemed to be quite consistent, so we went on our way.

Thank you God for answering my prayers and for always looking after us. The wipers appeared to be holding up!!!! There were a couple of scary moments, when the wipers just went off for a few seconds, but thankfully they came back on again without any drama.

It was without a doubt the scariest and stupidest drive of our lives!!! The wipers were running on low speed, but at least they were running! We did not dare to increase the speed of the wipers!!! So there were some really freakishly scary moments, when the rain got very heavy!!! (Just as a side note, we actually tried increasing the speed of the wipers when we arrived at our hotel, and true enough, they stopped working!!!)

The drive normally only takes 30 minutes, but we must have taken about 45 minutes. It was the most tense 45 minutes ever!! Azrael had his full concentration on the road, and I had my full concentration on praying and thanking God for keeping the wipers moving!

You cannot imagine our relieve when we got to our hotel!!! I am not normally an openly religious person, but once again, Praise the Lord for looking over us, and thank You for answering my prayers!!

Rainy days
So glad that you are both safe and sound after your most scariest drive yet. I would most certainly give the rental guy of Andy a piece of your mind- god - it could have been a catastrophe. However, hope you will be able to enjoy the last days sof your trip. Take care.
