The morning was cold and gloomy, but dry. Somewhere in the middle of the night the rain stopped and now after the morning ritual we were ready for a new day. The trek was still going north and the trek was leading us in the shady side of the valley. The road was good easy to walk on one only had to pay attention to the donkey droppings. Here they are the main way of transportation and valuable beasts. After four hours of walk we had lunch by the river, even dipped our feet in the river and just enjoyed the sun and the view on Ganesh 5.
after an hour we were all of a sudden in Deng. The day was clear and hardly any cloud on the sky.
Deng is a few houses at almost 2000m squeezed in between the mountains. It is very poor and far from anything, so life is simple here. One lodge for travelers and a camp site which we occupied for the night. It is more and more Tibetan influence visible on the way and on the people. On the road one comes across so called Mani Walls. These are in the middle of the road and are stones put on top of each other and the mantra's are carved on the flat pieces of stones, also Buddha forms with mantras in Tibetan. One should walk by with it's right shoulder toward the wall. Why? I will have to look into this because I do not know exactly and do not want to say things I do not know.
So Deng is a pleasant place and our day was enjoyable, even had time to meditate.
Tomorrow a longer day to Namrung.
