Lago Cuicocha
Went to Lago Cuicocha today which is located north of Otavalo. This is a crater lake that is located at a pretty high altitude. Its waters are deep and dark blue, very cool. You can hike around the lake, as we did. This was actually my second time here. I visited in 2002 with my group from Cuenca. The trip around the lake is beautiful. After a hike around the lake, exhausted, I just sat on a perch and looked over everything. I realized that I do this a lot down here in Ecuador. I just get lost in the beautiful landscapes of this country.
