Well, on Thursday we said Ciao to Italy and flew back to New York City. Before we left Italy, we played on the beach and went to Amalfi. The drive down made me car sick - it was very curvy! I liked Italy and had lots of fun but I am so excited to be back at the Beaverkill.

On Friday, we had real American cereal for breakfast and then I rode my bike down to the Inn with my dad for tennis lessons. I saw my friend Charlie at the store and we talked about Morocco and about politics. We both like Obama. It was so much fun to be back. We hung out and then our friends the Friedlands came over to our pond for sunset. That was fun. Then we had dinner at the pub - which was great! I got a lemon ice, which I love.

When I woke up the next morning, I had a great surprise! My good friend Sophie, from Oldwick, and her parents had driven up the night before and were asleep upstairs!!! I was so happy! It was great to see Sophie and hang out with her. She is cool. She brought her dog Lucy, too. We went to our pond and played DS, then we went for a walk in our woods. AFter lunch, we went to camp, where we played basketball and lots of other games with everyone. That night, we all went to the Inn for movie night and dinner - we watched the Leatherheads.

Today, it was the second ever Beaverkill Mountain Road Race, which my mom organized last year. I won for my age group last year, and this year Nicolas, my friend, won. But I also ran the 5K race this year and I came in 24th overall and 3rd in my age group. It was hard but fun. Before the race started, a bald eagle flew right over us. My mom and dad ran the half marathon and my mom was the first woman to finish and my dad finished 7th overall. Then I went to Nicolas's house with Charlie and Nic and we played in the pond and played two-on-tw0 football, then Charlie came to my house and we canoed in my pond, then we went to the barn dance at Casey's hoouse. The race raised money for the Beaverkill Valley Fire Department and the Catskill Mountainkeeper, which keeps the land safe.

Tonight, I had a sleepover at Charlie's and tomorrow we are going to see my Gramae and Pop and cousins in Nashville. I can't believe the first leg of our trip is over and we are about to go see polar bears!!!
