Hi everyone!

I've arrived safely in Ireland, and am having an amazing ridiculous time. So the first day I got in at around 7 am, well before anyone here actually woke up it seems. I got to sit in a park and read the local paper in the sun, which was quite nice (and unexpected! I can't believe it hasn't rained yet!) After walking across half of Dublin, and getting lost in a random flower market, I ended up in the Irish court house, where I sweet talked a guard into showing me a few different trials. One, which I sat in for about an hour, seemed to be an assault case that turned on the critical question of whether the defendant was drinking Guiness or cider on the night in question. I love this country! I think I did other things too, but yesterday is so far away already I can hardly remember. This is probably assisted by the fact that I went on a pub crawl last night, with a random roommate from my hostel. I've been living with three guys from Texas and the most religious Jew I've ever met in my life. Ridiculously, the religious guy and I became fast friends, and though he stands outside restaurants that I go into to order food, because they aren't Kosher, he's otherwise a reasonably sane companion. We had a good time, today we went for a tour of the Guiness brewery. We were going to go for a hike in Howth, but the jet lag finally won and I slept in this morning like it was my job.

I wish I had more entertaining stories already, but aside from my new friendship with a guy with peyos and who prays a billion times a day, everything has worked out perfectly and without problems thus far. I'm somehow convinced that Germany will be a lot more ridiculous.

Anyway, I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to hearing from all of you soon!
