Deep in the heart of Texas!! As you enter Texas on I-10 from Louisiana a sign informs you that it is 897 miles to El Paso...I'm afraid the roadtrip may never make it out of the lone star state! Upon entering we hit a Texas sized traffic jam before making it to the Woodlands where we were warmly received by the Arkansas Lambs, Gordy, Beth and the kids (thus completing the Lamb gamut for Zoe). While in Houston we saw Gracie play in her first basketball game, Garret perform technically difficult pieces on his guitar, Gabby gladly give up her bedroom for us, and Greta (newly introduced) dance like there was no tomorrow...she especially enjoyed Eminem. That evening we relaxed in the new hot tub before bidding adieu and heading to Dallas.

Even though Stephen desparately wanted to visit the museum housing the gun that shot JR Ewing, we decided to instead visit the new Nasher Sculpture Museum (see photos) which we cannot recommend highly enough. They claim to have assembled the best collection of modern sculpture in the world, and it is hard to disagree. Should you visit Dallas, don't miss it. Afterwards, Erica Hesley and Michael Kennedy, our Dallas hosts, invited us for drinks at the Ginger Man, a bar we can recommend even more highly than the Sculpture Museum! Yesterday brought a more subdued list of accomplishments as we saw Capote and watched the Golden Globes...all must do's in Dallas! Many thanks to Erica and Ginger (her Texas sized cat...see photo) for allowing us to stay with them.

This morning, we head to Austin for swing dancing at the Broken Spoke this evening and what Zoe hopes will be a chance encounter with Matthew McConnaghey (sp?) who just happens to reside in the hills outside of town...does anyone know what the stalker laws are in Texas??

Thanks for everyone's suggestions. They have been much appreciated.
