Today has been a glorious day.  Apparently all the humidity yesterday was on account on a storm blowing in, because today we woke up to absolutely perfect weather.  It was low 80s and sunny, with a light breeze and just enough humidity to keep everything green.  Leslie and I first went in search of a mythical farmers' market that was supposed to be going on, but which actually wasn't.  So instead we had a very nice brunch at a restaurant downtown.  I had some brisket hash and earl grey tea, it was delicious.  Then we went to Zilker Park, a huge park by the Lower Colorado river.  We rented kayaks and kayaked out on the river for an hour, which was fantastic.  It was perfect weather, smooth water, and great people-watching.  There were dozens of turtles swimming around in the water and sunning themselves on the rocks.  Unfortunately Leslie's camera got a little wet and went a bit wonky, so we're trying to fix it now.  After kayaking we sat in the sun for a while to dry off, and then we went to walk around the botanical gardens, which were very peaceful.  Then we grabbed some frozen custard at a roadside place - it was delicious.  Now we're relaxing a bit at the hostel before going out for some dinner and hopefully some more live music tonight.  Tomorrow - on to New Orleans.

Perfect Weather
Low eighties is perfect weather? You know, Zoe, sometimes I just don't understand you. Maybe you should be the one going to Brazil . . .
Your trip sounds like a lot of fun. Thanks for sending me the link. I love that a large portion of your blog is listing what you ate. We are so alike . . .
