Tried to get stuff done, made my phone calls, but the internet café is closed on Mondays as well, so couldn't make any progress. Its nice talking to mom and dad everyday, because well until today that's pretty much all the talking I do all day. Took the afternoon and got my hair cut. It was nice, it was like paying somebody to talk to me, because I haven't really had more than short conversations since I've been here. Interesting how every one always asks if kids in America are like in the movies- I tell them it is. Its hard to stereotype, but honestly Im kind of biased against that segment of our culture. Anyway hair worked out well I think, and much cheaper than at home- no tip either. She also didn't seem to be working in a rush which Im used to. Watched "Sex traffic" that was pretty depressing. Rohan, who Ill be living with, called me to have a few beers and get acquainted with the housemates tonite. That was a real good time, and all the guys are really good guys. Rohan and Jurey "were mates" in high school- they go to school at Deakin waterfront with a guy named Jared from South Africa, who they consider like a roomie because he hangs out all the time. We pretty much watched tv and Rohan cooked enchiladas, and it seemed really natural I think. I slip into being one of the guys really easily- and Im starting to think maybe its time I grow up. The other roommate is Ruben, who is a family friend of Rohans. Also a full on surfer it seems, and very very sweet and down to earth and seems to be a bit more calm than the others (but who knows). I think these are people who I could see will be friends even after I leave (if I leave). All are facilities management/ carpentry majors because apparently that's like engineering at home- in that it's the major to take for real world application right out of college. May move in early and sleep on the couch just so that I can start getting settled into day to day life.
