Annalies went to Senggigi on Lombok today to pick up some money. Rather than her parents needing to send her some money via western Union, which is what I would have done, it seems that American Express have some sort of insurance service whereby wherever you are in the world, someone will come to you, with a huge amount of money, enough for you to get by with until you get sent a new debit card. What a wonderful service! Whilst she went off to do that, and Tom was out on a date, me and David decided to walk around the whole island of Gili Trawangan. Lonely planet suggests this take a couple of hours. It can't have factored in photographic and drinks stops because by the time we got back to our bungalow 5 hours had passed!
Annalies had triumphantly returned with a wedge of cash so everything was right with the world again.
