19:05 What a day, one that started off poorly, which resulted in me getting upset for no reason I can really think of but ended rather better.

This morning i was due to go to Sanur where I had found (but not booked!) a cheap hostel with dorm rooms which would have cost 6 a night rather than the upwards of 10 I'm having to pay everywhere else. I went on hostel bookers to check the address by doing the accommodation search for one night and found it wasn't listed, help! That meant there was no rooms left! I frantically searched for somewhere else cheap to stay and was losing hope, then the bus arrived.

I got a shuttle bus to sanur and met a girl on the bus, who was staying at a cheap sounding hostel. When we arrived there it turned out to be the same place I'd been looking at in the morning, but under a different name, therefore it was full. I left and walked with all my bags across the street and started wandering around looking for somewhere cheap to stay. Time and time again I left place after place because it was out of my budget. I ended up getting a private bus to Ubud, and I have no idea why I didn't get a shuttle bus which would have been cheaper, I just felt so despondent.

I arrived in Ubud and started looking once again for a cheap room and was told of a place where I could get in for 100, 000 which was really as much as I was looking to pay. I got myself a little bungalow in a family house with breakfast included in the price. I sat and had a little sob, then sorted myself out and went for some lunch, it was already about 3pm.

As I sat there I asked the waitress if she knew anywhere I could rent a motorbike cheaply, and she said yes. Her friend turned up not long after and let me have a motorbike quite cheaply and also offered to take me to a cremation tomorrow, I asked what the catch was - no one ever does anything for nothing, but there was no catch. Just after he left a guy I met in Hong Kong plonked himself down at my table! Brilliant! We chatted a while, then he went to watch the sunset from a hill somewhere and arranged to meet again at 7pm. In the meantime I went for a walk into Ubud. It was interesting to see the men in sarongs, flowers behind their ears and a funny little bit of cloth on their heads. They look so traditional, and its nice to see they still hold traditions close, despite the clear western influences there are here. It was nice to walk around and see all the ornate buildings and carvings, and pretty little shops.

22:02 At 7 I met Sean and we went out for dinner with another guy who he was staying with here, who is a carer for quadriplegics or as they have been renamed tetraplegics. It sounds hard and difficult to manage life around, as you live with the person full time for 2 weeks then have a week off, then live with them for another 2 weeks, which I imagine makes renting anywhere for your week off completely pointless as you're never there!
As we sat and chatted an unusual looking western man turned up with long blond hair, a sarong, tweed jacket and teva sandals, he really looked quite bizarre!

After dinner we walked up into Ubud and went to a place called Boom Boom bar, where a live band was playing- 'special tonight romantic love' which isn't good for me as today would have been my 3 year anniversary, so I guess today I've felt a bit low, I didn't achieve much and this is a difficult time of year for me and may be for a few years to come as it's hard to forget something, or rather someone, that meant the world to you who you still miss every day and wish had wanted the same things as you, including this amazing trip. I wanted both but could only have one though and now my life will never be the same again, it has been knocked onto a different path, a potentially nomadic path where I can call nowhere home anymore.

There'll always be somewhere to call home, Zoe. And before you know it I'm sure someone even more amazing will come into your life. You just need to stay strong, enjoy your amazing journey and remember that you have so many people who love and support you.

You're looking really well by the way! The flame red hair really suits you, and it looks like you have lost a lot of weight! Has the infection in your arm all cleared up now by the way?

Take care, and look forward to reading more of your adventures.

This is one of the saddest posts of yours I've read... Sending you big hugs and warm wishes.

Home is where the heart is, a cliche I know but I love you loads and my home is your home whenever you need it! You have lots of good friends who all feel the same, we all miss you and can't wait to see you again. And we're all jealous as hell over the amazing experiences you've been documenting here. You've lived a lifetime in the last 7 months.
