09:12 After hearing how tired I am, you can imagine my joy at hearing the jangly music at 545am. Dont get me wrong, I like local jangly music, but seriously? Not at that hour when my legs already feel like they're about to drop off and I need matchsticks to keep my eyes open. I put the other pillow over my head, making a head sandwich, it didn't work, so I closed the windows and then made a head sandwich and was able to doze off again for another couple of hours before my alarm went off at 745.

I pulled myself out of bed, down to breakfast where I was only able to eat half a baguette with jam, a little fruit and some tea, saving the other half of the baguette and fried egg in a box to take with me.

Today we travel by tuktuk, a much more comfy way to go. I spent quite some time picking grass seeds out of the bottom o my trouser legs that id picked up in Sambor Prei Kuk. The little things stick into your clothes and have to be removed one by one.

11:16 Wow, banteay srei is one of the most amazing places I've ever seen!
13:53 Just walked/climbed 1.5 kilometres to Kbal Spean to see the engravings in the rocks by the river and a big waterfall I stuck my head under.
21:00 After the hot walk it was off to see a few more temples and it poured with rain.

Saw Kelsey in the evening who i met back in Hanoi.

sorry, Im just absolutely knackered! Enjoy the pics....many of which i have still to rename as they're not all Banteay Srei but Im trying to keep up here!

Best: Banteay Srei
Worst: Rain and exhaustion
Beautiful: Banteay Srei

Banteay Srei is about 20 km from Angkor Wat and is utterly stunning.
Yes it is amazingly photogenic, but your photographs do it more than justice, they are brilliant. Well framed and composed, interesting, and so full of detail.
I am so glad you enjoyed it. I missed it 40 years ago on my first visit, and I almost cried when I eventually did see it.
Well done!
