11:55 We left at 8.30 today. Tri managed to find me some bread and laughing cow cheese, as well as a very strong coffee and some orange juice. I knew I wasn't imagining the 7.30 racket outside being piped through loud speakers. It's government music.

We came back down the mountain from khe sanh and set off on the Ho Chi Minh trail, a fantastic long, quiet, winding road following the Tarurt river along a valley through thick green bushes and trees, paddy fields and wooden stilted houses. The local children were all happy to wave and smile at the passing snowflake on the back of a bike. Whenever we stopped there would be half a dozen dirty faces coming to have a look.

19:55 At Aluoa town we turned back towards Hue instead of going to Prao as we actually planned. I think this was partly as we thought the other way better, and also because food was becoming a minor issue in that it was so basic. I'm all for noodle soup, but not 3 times a day, every day!
We went to Elephant Springs where I threw decency to the wind in favour of being cooler, and took off my trousers and socks and just went swimming in my clothes. It was lovely. I dried off soon enough on the back of the bike so it wasn't too bad!

We rode for about 30 mins before arriving in Lang Co Town and our hotel, it looked pretty nice but is next to a main road, I hope that won't be a problem!

Enjoy the pics, they tell a better story of a day sitting on a bike!
