As I waited in the airport for a plane back from Exeter to Newcastle with my folks, I browsed WH Smiths, as you do, (as you can't help but do in fact, because even in an airport as small as Exeter there seem to be at least 3 WHSmiths!) and found a book called "The Rough Guide to First Time Around the World".
I flicked through this book and saw many things that seemed useful so I made an impromptu purchase. As I paid for it at the till, the girl scanned an offer card and handed me this white fluffy bear with a nametag on it's ear calling him Horace. I thought this was rather sweet and as I went back to find Mum and Dad, I showed them what I'd bought, and been given, and felt it was a sign that Horace would have to come round the world with me. I think Mum thought this was rather sweet as her eyes welled up, not least because it was actually the last day that we would all be together before the end of the year, but she thought I should take Horace too. Perhaps if Horace leaves me to find a new owner in Thailand or somewhere then he will go to a better home with a lovely child, but I shall try and keep him with me as long as I can.
He attracted the keen eyes of several children in the departure lounge who all seemed fascinated by him tied to me luggage by his scarf!
