Val Flueri Campsite

We left aix en Provence though it was difficult. It is definitely my favorite place in France. We drove towards a village called Aiguines which was right at the beginning of France's "Grand Canyon" called Gorges Du Verdon. Furthest west is a man made lake called Lac de Ste Croix. It has this bizarre teal coloring which reminded me of the waters in Zanzibar. We stayed at a campsite called La Galetas which was very close to the lake.

In the morning Stefan and I rented a canoe and embarked on what we assumed would be a long trip down the gorges. The sights from the bottom of the Gorge looking up were amazing but the ride was quite short as apparently it is "low season." We made a bit of fun for ourselves and did some cliff jumping into the river on the way back.

We then left the area on some treacherous roads that spanned Gorges du Verdon and arrived in Cannes to catch the last day of the Cannes Film Festival. We grabbed a quick dinner downtown and watched all the dresses and tuxedos walk around the city.

We have arrived in a city just outside of Nice called Cagnes. It is a very nice camp site called Val Fleuri. We drove into a small historical and art-inspired town called Vence. We had a nice lunch on a cobblestone walkway just a few feet from a column that was built in 230 AD.

Tomorrow we return our rental car in Nice where we'll stay for the night then we fly to Palermo where our Italian journey will begin

I am jealous. The worst thing about traveling is that it
Usually will infect you. And it's a chronic infection. You
Will always have that urge to get back out there. Your
Only fix will be to go traveling again! Have fun! Aaron
