Went to McDonald's with Jessica who has been craving it for a few days. We both ordered Happy Meals, but I got milk and peaches with mine. As we sat down, a Korean came up to us and started talking to us. My first thought was "Wow! His English is really good!" Then he introduced himself as Eugene and said he was from New York. I was like oh gosh! Oops. He then told us he just moved to Gimcheon a week ago and asked if he could sit with us. We said yea, and he went to order.
I looked at the line and he was talking to some tall guy, so Jess and I were excited. They sat with us, and it turns out his friend is his student. His name is Jae Sik and he is 28. He is studying to be an auto mechanic. He was pretty quiet and Eugene told us that Jae Sik is very interested in learning English and that he has been teaching himself from textbooks for 4 years.
Jae Sik had to leave and Jessica, Eugene and I went our own ways. I went and bought food then was told by Jenny that a bunch of us were going to Gumi in about 2 hours. I met them at the station and off we went. After getting off the train and making our way to the street, there were a bunch of kids dancing to kpop songs. We stood on the stairs and watched as the kids performed. A group of guys, one was pretty cute, started to walk up the other side of the stairs then stopped next to us and watched the kids. I glanced over a few times at the guys and when the kids finished we started to walk away. Then the cute guy called out to us saying "Hello, nice to meet you!" then the rest of his friends did. I looked back, waved and said "Hello, nice to meet you too!" They smiled and laughed and repeated. I started to laugh along with Lynn and we both said it back.
We made our way to find the bus stop, got on and made our way to meet up with some friends. We then went to a Hookah Place, where the others had beer and smoked a Hookah. Serena met with us there and said a friend of her's will be joining us at Waygook Cook.
Around 8:30 we left for Waygook Cook and met Serena's friend outside of Waygook Cook. I looked at the guy, and he looked familiar but I couldn't place it....but he was good looking. Serena introduced him to us and he took a double take on me. Then he points at me and says "McDonald's?" I get a better look and a light bulb went off. "Oh yea!" (Earlier I had my contacts in and I switched over to my glasses. He had a beenie on earlier and now he didn't). We all went in and he ended up sitting next to me and asked a few questions. After we got our food (he already ate) he went and talked to some other people. I then watched the Open Mic night and around 11pm, a few of us started to head out. I went over to Jae Sik, tapped his shoulder, apologized to the people he was talking to and told him I was heading out. He quickly asked if he could have my number and told me he would call me in the morning.
Lynn, Jenny, Stacia, Tanya and I made our way back to the train station and headed home.
