We experienced many different driving conditions today. It was clear when we left Lone Pine but before we knew it we were in a heavy snow storm with poor visibility. Down in elevation again it stopped snowing but got very, very windy (trucks and RV's were sidelined). Because of the cold and threatening weather we decided to go west on Interstate 80 toward the coast instead of staying on 395 to Susanville, but had to get over the Sierra Nevada mountains, so from Reno we did that. Again we went through snow but was nice to get back to the coastal zone where the weather improved. The drive up to Redding from Marysville was just lovely on CA99. It was GREEN and lush. No more desert.
