We were on the road early, the forecast was dismal for Bryce Canyon, cold and snow, so we tried to get there before the snow began. The drive from Torrey to Bryce Canyon on Highway 12 is so scenic. We drove higher and higher to around 9600 ft, and temperature was -3 celsius.
The hoodoos (pillars of rock) of Bryce Canyon National Park are quite a sight - strange and beautiful. It got colder, windier and snowier as the day progressed, and we felt lucky that we had seen the Canyon that day. It snowed all night and was socked in next morning, we wouldn't have been able to see anything more, so we headed out.
