This was a surprisingly good day in the The Needles area of Canyonlands National Park as we did not know what to expect - but enjoyed the great overlooks, short hikes and lots of blowing tumbleweed. Off-roading, cycling and back-country hiking are all popular. We were more than satisfied with the photo opportunities. Later checked into Moab which has a great feel. It is a mecca for rafting on the Colorado River, cycling, rock climbing, off-road jeeping and generally enjoying the National Parks in the region.
