So today we saw a Buffalo (actually two) grazing on the side of the road 15 Kilometers outside of Edmonton lines.  Within the next mile we also horses, goats, sheep and cows at the local farms.  It was very surreal.  Also on our trip we have seen deer in fields grazing, prairie dogs watching life go by on the side of the road, an eagle and a ton of hawks.  Many times we have seen hawks swoop down and catch prey right in front of us.  It is very cool to see.  However the coolest thing I have seen to date is the buffalo grazing at the road side.  It must not be a common occurrence for this to happen do to the fact 5 cars stopped with us to watch them and take pictures.  I can't wait to find out what I will see next.

We traveled along the North Saskatuan river today, a place were Whooping Cranes summer after wintering on the gulf shores of Texas.  I was hoping to see some but no luck.  The views however where magnificent.  Enjoy the pictures.

So we are becoming a bit road weary.  Checked the map and we have roughly 1800 miles to go!!  We have already driven roughly 2800.  We have decided to bite the bullet and drive 600 mile days and should be in anchorage Tuesday night.  I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!!  Neither can Dad and the Cats :-)  We have a routine worked out I drive first thing while Dad's coffee kicks in.  This gives the cats time to wonder around the car and sit in our laps and meow at us.  Traveling with cats is not as bad as I thought, but I would not recommend it to the faint of heart.  They are a lot of work, but they are worth it.  I think traveling with one would be much easier then with two, especially since one of my cats is a BIG drama queen.  She self induces panic attacks when she doesn't get her own way.

While we were driving today it looked like a zen moment video you would find online for 491 miles.  It is just so beautiful up here.  The rolling hills, yellow and green fields, puffy white floating clouds as far as the eye can see just brings you to the moment.  This is the first time in my life that I am truly in the moment.  I am only moving forward at the moment.  I have a plan worked out for the future, so that is all taking care of.  There is no going back in the near future.  Everything is just as it should be.  The only thing I have to do is look out the window and enjoy that exact moment as it happens.  To appreciate the color of the flowers, the roll of the hill, the deer munching on leaves in a field.  It is a perfect time.  I hope I can bring this practice forward into my life as a continuous practice.
