Where I stayed
Jonathon's Massage room
So as of two weeks ago I moved from the house that I was living in with a nice bed, comfy couch and all the room I could want to living in a massage room on an air mattress out of two suit cases and a couple of small plastic boxes. I must say it has been a bit difficult to wrap my brain around this but I think I am finally settling in. In a way it is very nice not to be a slave to my posessions and to have only what I need. Looking at what I have I don't even know if I need half the stuff I have now but it was just difficult to figure out what I would need for a month at somebody else's place. However my friend is generous and allows me the use of his place and stuff.
I am glad that I started this process now. It has allowed me more time to figure out what I will need for Alaska and is giving me time to repack and rethink what I originally thought I would need/want. What an adventure. My huge adventure starts with this adjustment period. By the time I am adjusted to this I will be heading up to Maine to spend a week or so w/Mom and Dad. Then Dad and I will be hitting the road for AK. I am getting antsy and want the trip to start. Now!!! :-)
Tonight after our cookout I managed to get the old fit kit off my old thule bars so that I can go pick up the new fit kit tomorrow to fit on this vehicle. Then it is down to Polly's to go see the cargo box she has so that I can purchase it and put it on the SUV. This will give me more travel space. If I wasn't packing the cats along I would have plenty of room but the cats need room to feel comfortable on their relocation also. It will all get worked out in the long run. This is all a fabulous adventure. One where I get to adventure, plan and problem solve. I love it!!1
