Oh my golly gosh what an excellent few days we have had. On the weekend we went to the Whitsundays!
OH. MY. GOLLY. GOLLY. GOSH! Probably one of the most thrilling, breathtaking experiences of our lives! Basically we went out on a boat...no i take it back, its not a boat as in, deck chairs on the deck (two 'decks' yay!), not a bar, table to eat on, singular showers etc etc. What we're trying to get at here is that this was no luxury boat, it was a sailiong boat and it was bloody tiny! There was 22 on board altogether and it was hard, but totally excellent! Toilet cosisted of a little pot like structure, had to turn on the light evertime we went to the loo or it blocked up, shower was connected to the toilet bit (hence the reason nobody had showers for 3 days...we did smell!) The deck was, well tiny and the crew...oh they were funny! On e good thing was the food...a hearty meal, everybackpackers dream! STEAK! Now, we know we came up with the Ultimate Travelling Theory, buit even we cant afford steak...it was heaven.
Now enough about food...the Whitsundays! Beautiful. Now, first things first Whitehaven beach. Now, we know that in all our other logues we talked about white sandy beaches??? DISREGARD ALL OF THEM! No, we take that back...the other beaches were beautiful, but you have not seen a beautiful, truely beautiful beach until you have seen Whitehaven. Its voted on of the 5 best beaches in the world (and its a big bloody world!) White as in white paper white...blue/green sea as in the brightest blue and green you have ever seen...beautiful as in Shelley and Hollie beautiful (hee hee!). We saw these crabs on the beach, bright blue bodies and leopard skin legs...weird and wonderful! We collected the most amazing shells (Hols actually found a dead starfish...Shelley only found half of one!) When we got back to Airlie we had necklaces, well, Hollie did...Shelley couldn't think of anything worse to do!
Then it was back on the boat to another island (coz Whitehaven is an island...hence Whitsunday ISLANDS! Then we went snorkelling! Hollie and Shelley have found something they LOVE...tropical fish, colourful coral (hard to believe its actually alive) and guess what...WE SAW NEMO!
Then we went scuba diving. Now, we know we have taken part in alot of dangerous, potentially life threatening situations since we've been away (jetski, quadbikes etc!) but this is life threatebing. 'Dont be so dramatic' we hear ypu all say! But mates, its true! If you forget to breath (which we found very easy to do) then your lungs could, well, go wrong basically coz theres alot of pressure down there...your eardrums could burst, not to mention theremake be some great big sharkes lurking around and getting a bit peckish! But all that fear flies out the window when you're down there! No worries mate! We saw more Nemo...we saw a stingray...and most importantly we did not forget to breath. Hollie stopped kicking her flippers at one point and started to sink...rather AMUSING...Hollie is giving me daggers, but her face when scared (quad bikes, luge etc) is SO FUNNY! Anyway, she started to sink into the coral, which we remind you is alive, so she looked around frantically when we sank with this look, but she was cool. We did very very well and had the best time!

We stayed in Airlie a few more days (we were still swaying from the boat, weird sensation. WHEN WILL WE EVER BE FREE FROM IT!) and then we were off to Rockhampton, where we were planning to do some fruit picking (actually in a place called Emerald, which is about 3hrs west of Rockhampton in the middle of bloody NOWHERE!!) But we changed our mind....Emerald is bllody miles away man! No way, so were gonna look for some more, which is more conveniently located!

We're in the Town Of 1770 (little bit of history for you, called 1770 due to the fact that Captain Cook landed here in the year 1770!) Anyone from Shelley's drama group...'OUR COUNTRY....OUR COUNTRY'S GOOD'? Jesus, i cant remember the play we studied for like A WHOLE YEAR! How embarrassing!

Anyway, we're gonna be off in a couple of days, we will keep you informed! Gotta go now...trying to type her and i cant see the God damn keyboard...not sure why the light doesnt actaully light the whole room, but we are in a small town...maybe there are restrictions!

WE'LL BE IN TOUCH...HOPE YOU ARE ALL ABSOLUTEY FABULOUS!
