Our last few weeks in sydney wern't all that eventful...we just went out alot and had fun and got hammered near enough every night! We were well ill in the last week, Hols was terrible (I had a high temp and all i wanted was to be in my bed at home and being looked after, but of course that's passed now, im all hunky dorey!!!)
What else has happened....? OOOHHHH SHELLEY WAS IN HOSPITAL WITH A CONCUSSION....
The most stupid and reckless thing I've ever done. I was out with Kevin and Olly (our two awesome friends we met at work) and the evening was coming to an end (I found $250 in the girl's loos...ON THE COCKTAILS...WAS PLASTERED!. Olly then thought it would be a good idea to slide down the banister in the middle of a flight of stairs...so he did, landing gracefully on his feet at the end! So i decide that im going to do the same, so being pissed and truely believing im invincable, i slide down, fall backwards and BANG on my head! Ouch! Of course, at the time i thought it was hilarious, got back up and carried on the night! The next day i felt so bad, had to go hospital, had to have xrays and a CT scan (big round thing...very ER!) All good though!
Looking back it was great but at the time.....!
Our last night in Sydey was cool. There was a huge fireworks display, which we decided was especially planned for us on our last night (wishful thinking!) It was a good night!
So we're in Cairns (and for those who don't know where that is, right at the top on Australia, and then to the right a bit!) Arrived here on Monday and we're staying at this awesome backpackers called Asylum! We happened to arrive on Mad monday, which basically means the hostel pay for you to go out, have a meal and get sloshed! It was great, excellent way to meet people and have a laugh. We're paying for it today though...feeling rough (which is why this update isnt that great, we do feel like shit!)
We went and checked out the rest of Cairns today...IT IS SO BLOODY HOT! Its around 26 or 27 today and its just amazing! We went to the beach with this really cool swimming pool thing which is kind of connected to the beach, and the pavement and the sea...its hard to explain! AND WE SAW A PELICAN! Now we know that seems pretty dumb to be getting happy about, but we've only ever seen pelicans in zoos, it just reminded us that we were on the otherside of the world!
We're hoping to get some nice weather again tomorrow so we can top up our tans (be jealous all you suckers in England!!!) We're traveling up to Port Douglas in a few days, then making our way down the coast...next stop Mission Beach! We're so excited!
We'll be leaving each other in about a month...we're going our seperate ways (but we dont talk about that...we get sad, which is really stupid considering we just brought the subject up! Never mind!)
Right we're gonna go now and download some pictures so you can all see our beautiful faces!
