Where I stayed
In the morning, early and in search of breakfast, we stroll through Newtown. What an awesome town centre! We're really excited by the choice of restaurants - Vietnamese, Lebanese, Japanese, Thai, Nepalese, Mexican and more. Yum! The shops look interesting too, and we make a note to put time aside to explore them more.
At 11.30am we meet Allan, Si and Isabel at Circular Quay. It's great to see them over here in Australia! They've been here for about the same amount of time we have, staying with Si's dad
We board the ferry to Manly. Aside from a bit of wind it couldn't be a more perfect day. The boat makes its way out and across the Sydney harbour, giving us brilliant views of the city centre crowned, of course, by the iconic harbour bridge and opera house.
Manly is an odd place. Pretty in a way, with white sand beaches. It definitely feels like a tourist trap though, and doesn't quite have the quaint charm of Devonport. We struggle to find somewhere that looks alright for lunch and when we do, we're disappointed by the food. The company's good though, and Bell is a constant source of entertainment. We wander back to the ferry building and indulge in some decadent ice creams. Bell has a play on the beach that turns into a swim. We take the ferry back to the city and part ways for the day.
Nathan and I grab a quick dinner in Newtown. The Mexican we choose in incredible. We intend to eat here again before the end of our stay in Sydney. We head home for an early night.
