We were greeted at Heathrow by Yvonne's father and Jack on one side and Yvonne's mother on the other accompanied by helium balloons and Numberjacks 4 and 9!  However, despite the lure of the Numberjacks, Steven would not be prised away from Yvonne and was clearly unnerved by the attention, having spent the last five months in the company of just his parents!
We were welcomed back to the UK with grey skies and rain, but were relieved as it soon cleared up and sunny weather followed for the next few days.  It would have been too depressing otherwise!  After all those miles around the world - the thing we both noticed?  - how different the British number plates are to everywhere else in the world!
Having spent some time to a greater or lesser extent in a number of countries, both Yvonne and D came to feel that England had a lot going for it, although New Zealand ran a close second!  Yvonne had read a quote whilst away that was along the lines of travel doesn't necessarily broaden the mind but opens your eyes to what is around you at home, which seems very true.

And finally...
Wise words from Mark Twain!

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things that you didn't do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbour. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover."
