Steven woke up bright and early to open his Christmas presents from Father Christmas!

Despite the weather, we persisted with the good old english tradition of a roast lunch.  The vegetables were just right, but, unfortunately, in our hurry to get the shopping done on Christmas Eve, D had picked up something that was called turkey, but turned out to be a sort of reconstituted, recovered meat/gristle that had an flavour somewhat like ham!  Yvonne enjoyed the strawberry gateau as nobody else particularly wanted it especially as the green Merry Christmas decoration had melted into the cream on top.  Yvonne hastens to add that it did not affect the flavour!

As usual, plans are there to be changed, and the big idea of going to Bondi Beach on Christmas Day was soon abandoned as that feeling of after dinner Christmas Day fatigue had set in!  Instead we embarked on a trip to a local beach which Estelle, the landlady, recommended because it was very calm and good for paddling.

So we ended up going to Malabar Beach where Steven and Yvonne paddled in the calm but crystal clear sea whilst D looked after our shoes!  ...and a real Christmas Day bonus for Steven - there was an excellent playground where he was able to spend some time afterwards.

At the end of the day - D and Yvonne both thought that hot Christmas Day, whilst a pleasant change from what we are used to, just didn't feel right!

What a lovely Christmas
Glad you had a good time despite the turkey mix up.
