We made the 5 hour journey back to Narita yesterday on the fabulous Shinkansen or bullet train, changing at Osaka and Tokyo.  Travelling days are always a long haul with Steven getting quite bored and not displaying his best behaviour.  Safely checked back into the Holiday Inn we all slept from 9.30pm until Steven got us up at quarter to 6.

Before bed, D claimed the earth moved for him! He was sitting in the hotel lobby discussing cricket with an Indian gentleman, when the floor and windows started shaking.  We think it was probably an earth tremor as we later discovered there had been a notable earthquake in Indonesia.  Yvonne had claimed to feel tremors throughout the trip but we think it may be the way the buildings are constructed and they shake more, for example when D walks across the room!

The temperature dropped, to 2 degrees one night, whilst we were in Hiroshima but now we're back in sunny Narita it has been brilliant sunshine and warm (15 degrees).

We are having a day of rest - well it is Sunday - in preparation for the 7 hour flight to Bangkok tomorrow.

Latest update -
Japan did have an earthquake at 21.13 yesterday registering 4.3 on the Richter scale - insignificant for Japan!
We also hear that they are planning a coup in Bangkok tomorrow - so who knows what tomorrow may bring!

Lovely to get your latest report and pictures - I'm loving it- nearly as good as being there. You've managed to meet some really friendly people, which is nice. The menu intrigues us - what does a Freddo taste like???? Have a good journey to Thailand and a great time there. Love you.
