This was the highlight of our trip. Russia definitely had what you might call an "eastern block" feel to it though you could tell that signs of capitalism starting to sprout. From a cultural and historical perspective, the country has so much to offer. We packed as much as we could into the 2 days we were there, but it's not nearly enough to do the city justice.
Highlights:
- St. Isaac’s Cathedral
- Hermitage Museum
- Church on Spilled Blood
- Peter and Paul Fortress
- Catherine’s Palace (in the city of Pushkin)
- Yussupov’s Palace
- Cruise along the canals of Neva River
