I had just picked up Ashley at the airport outside of Valencia when I ran into Kyle, ne of the guys from my Valenciano class. He was also waiting for a friend. I was thinking how weird that was as I turned around and almost ran into Angela and all of her roommates. Small world.

Ashley, a friend of mine from College Park, had been studying abroad in Italy. For her spring break she asked if she could come visit. Turns out she couldn't have picked a better time, as it was the week of Fallas. So I picked her up, standing outside the very room I had emerged from late at night so long ago. I felt like the local expert as I pointed stuff out to her on the ride home, showed her how to use the metro, and then smoothly got her suitcase trapped in the turnstile. Slick. We didn't do much the first night, but she met the roomies. She fell in love with Sam at first sight, followed quickly by Ward at second sight. She kept saying how inconvenient it was that my roommates were gorgeous.
On Sunday we walked down to the beach. It was a hot day and one of her goals was to get a tan. We walked along the paseo- there were lots of people out enjoying the day- it was very Spanish. I didn't want to stay too long or I would be fried.
A cold had firmly lodged itself in my nostrils Monday morning, which was as good an excuse as any not to go to Robots. I did make it to French though, letting Ashley go down to the beach. Tai and I went to meet Ashley afterwards. Ashley found Tai entertaining.
Its a good line up for pre-week Fallas, with Flamenco on Tuesday, bullfighting on Wednesday, and then the festivities through Sunday night. We had Thursday, Friday, and Monday off of school, but that would turn out to be insufficient.
