Mekong Delta, Vietnam

It had come time to leave Vietnam, I'd spent a month there, travelling from the border with China all the way down to Saigon. I really enjoyed Vietnam, there's an easy going ness to it and the people are nice in general, just the moto driver I have a beef with. Instead of taking the bus direct to Cambodia, I opted for the two day trip that took in a quick visit to the
Mekong Delta. The trip started in Saigon and finished in
Phnom Penh, the Camodian capital. I'd done the trip the other way round when I was here 15 months ago and enjoyed it then. There's something about cruising down or up the Mekong, watching the Vietnamese go about there lives from the boat. It's very photogenic, but in reality a lot of them are living have a pretty low standard of living.
