We finally, finally made it to our destination of Antibes! We left home over a month ago. It's been great fun getting here but we are very excited to have finally arrived. We are looking forward to settling down in one spot for the next seven weeks.

So far, so good. The apartment is awesome. It's huge and luxurious compared to our Parisian apt. It is also quiet and blissfully free of smoke fumes. Both things that our Parisian apt was not often. It also has proper blackout blinds. Ozzie says he can't wait to go to sleep! We were a little nervous when we arrived. Seven weeks is a big commitment if you don't like the space. Thankfully, we are pleased as punch with it. The apartment has a balcony off the east side which can be accessed from the bedrooms and a giant rooftop deck on the west side (of course, we always must have a big deck). There is a BBQ and a fire pit/chimney thing out there which I hope we will get to use often.

The train ride was uneventful. Nicolas flirted shamelessly with everyone on the train and refused to nap for more than 30 mins in the process. For those of you who might be interested in coming to visit us, the train from Paris is pretty easy and I feel like it is likely easier than flying (can't really compare though not having done both). The train station is right here in town so there was no need for a complicated transfer from the airport in Nice. A quick 5 mins taxi ride brought us to the train station on either end of our trip. The train itself was 5.5 hours which went by fairly quickly.

It is definitely warmer down here but shortly after we arrived a storm rolled in. It is dark, wet and windy out there right now. Hopefully Antibes will have some nicer weather tomorrow to give us a proper welcome...
