The Gold Coast is home to Australia's Florida style theme parks, so we spent two days exploring a selection of them.

On day one we headed to Dreamworld and White Water World... they are next door to each other and you can swap between the parks. We started in Dreamworld, where the best ride was the Claw (which we went on about 5 times before the end of the day). We also went on Wipeout, Cyclone and the big drop... which was a similar feeling to bungy jumping.

After lunch we went to the water park, which had a very cool magnetic slide that meant the raft could go down and up hill! A very fun day.

The second day we went to Sea World - highlights included the seal show, dolphin show and the polar bears. They also had a large aquarium with some some very big sharks, which we watched being fed.

That evening we finished our theme park experience with a night at the Outback Spectacular. It was a live show with horses, songs and a meal. We got cowboy style hats and free wine... always a winner.

12th Nov - We stopped in at Surfers Paradise to admire the beach and watch lots of people falling off surf boards, before heading to Burleigh Heads where we walked around the headland spotting wildlife.

We continued south to Coolangatta, where we did another coastal walk. At the end of this walk we reached the border between Queensland and New South Wales. It was very hot and I got sun burnt for the first time... but I managed to make a hat from the map to keep the sun off!
