A lot has transpired since the last post. Monica came out to visit. We had been working on getting a rental house, for cheaper than what our hotel was costing, but things weren't looking good. Monica was going to be stuck in a rather uninspiring part of the island with no beaches and no view. Then at the last minute, everything seemed to come together and we got the house we wanted. It's a 7 bedroom overlooking Tutu Bay(I think, but who can really keep all the Bays straight). There's beach access and really does have an amazing view. It's further away from work, so we have about a 40 minute commute but what a different. We actually look forward to coming home now. And what's even crazier is that there are only 5 of us here and production still pays less than what they paid at the crappy hotel, almost $2000 a week less if you can believe that.
Yesterday Monica and I took the ferry over to St. Johns, which is mostly a National Park. We weren't able to rent a jeep, which is the best way to see the island, so we just ended up doing a little hiking and napping on the beach.
Back at the house a BBQ was ramping up. Our coworker Kevin is a spear fisherman and has been scoping out the waters here. No fish yet, but he did come up on some huge lobsters yesterday. He's out again today stocking up for the big Super Bowl Party. And now for a backlog of photos.
Here's a little Before and after photo of where we were and where we are now. So you can all stop feeling sorry for me now.
