To get into the spirit for Halloween, Lexi invited me over for my first experience carving a pumpkin!  We also decorated her house ready for Halloween, making a massive spider's web along her whole front porch  out of masking tape!  We taped spiders and ghosts and bats in the web too, and hung a skeleton and things like that.  Compared to some houses, that was nothing!  Some people go all out with lanterns and lights covering bushes and trees and gravestones and massive spiders and headless people along the walkway and pumpkins everywhere and things like that!  It was amazing!  There were at least 2 or 3 houses along every street who went all out like that, others put up a few things, and some didn't have anything, but pretty much everyone handed out candy on Halloween night, but I'll get to that later.
Anyway, so we decorated her house, then went inside and printed off pumpkin carving stencils.  We cut the tops off the pumpkins and had to get all the stuff in the middle out.  Then we taped the stencil to the pumpkin and pricked holes along the lines for an outline.  We took the paper away and started cutting!  It was pretty messy (on my part at least) but lots of fun!  I thought I did pretty well actually, I was proud haha.
