Rolled out early this morning to hit the road heading to RCMP Depot in Regina. An amazing ride in the morning, saw fields of sunflowers, canola, cilatrono (smelled that one.. that's what's great about being on a bike, it's not just about what you see, it's what you hear and smell). Also saw a couple of prairie dogs running by the highway. Lots of graineries, fields of different coloured crops. We met up with a group of 17 riders on the way, some RCMP members, some CAV members who escorted us into Depot. A very warm welcome, and cadets were out watching our presentation and buying our souvenirs.
We were treated to an indonesian buffet for lunch and then left to head to our scheduled whistlestop at Mark's in Moosejaw. We were escorted out of Depot towards Moosejaw. Not your usual method in terms of how the police have been escorting us and along with the high winds it was a little scary stretch of road.
Temperature when we left Brandon this morning was a chilly 9 degrees; by the end of the day we hit 29. Wind was incredible, especially from Regina to Moosejaw.
We are still being well received, not just at our scheduled events but at stops along the way, where people approach us and ask what we are doing. People are generously reaching into their pockets to contribute to our causes, at gas stations, restaurants, on the side of the highway.
Tomorrow is another busy day, ending up in Lloydminster, Alberta.
