Well, I went and did it. Today I turned in my resignation of sorts with the company I work for. Or rather, I let them know that I would not be signing a new contract with them from next April. With my bank balance about halfway to the intended goal, I'm feeling pretty secure about winding things down here and taking an extended holiday. I figure at this point I'm not going to have as prime an opportunity again before I have to knuckle down and get more serious about the whole teaching career thing. So, from early April I get to tend to the wanderlust and hopefully give it enough of an overdose to shut it down for a while. After that, it's graduate school time.

I'm feeling pretty good about it, really. With nearly four years in Japan under my belt working for the same company, it's time for a change. Soon comes a new chapter...
