About 24 hours behind schedule, we arrived in Boston last night and went straight to our B&B in Back Bay to crash. Not surprisingly, I woke up bright-eyed and bushy-tailed at an unwelcome 3am. Waking up each consecutive hour until about 6, I finally got up and at 'em - without having to worry about ruining Mayu's much needed rest - about 7:30. Then we were off to cram in as much of the originally-intended (but-sadly-squashed) sightseeing as we could.

I don't think the Freedom Trail is meant to be done in under two hours, but we pulled it off. One could argue that the distance certainly allows for it, but I don't think it's quite enough to allow for appreciation. I'll disregard all that on the point that both Mayu and I have been to Boston before, so we can do the rushed tour. At the least, I was able to get a few nice pictures taken and say with pride that we did more in Beantown than sleep and grab breakfast. Now at just after noon, it's already time to bid farewell and catch a train for the Berkshires.

Great city though . . . easily one of my favorites in the States. We'll be dropping back in at the end of the trip, if only for about enough time to have a nice dinner (the plan's for Italian in the North End) and brief rest before flying out. Anyhow, it won't be the last visit.
