As my train rolled into Towradgi Station, I was trying to sort out where I was and if I had already missed my stop. Luckily I hadn't. Lisa and Brian were there waiting for me, along with their dog Daisy. My sister Cori met Brian and Lisa while traveling in Europe about 7 years ago, when they were out seeing the world. When they came to travel around the states our whole family was able to meet them and they spent sometime working on my Aunt's ranch in Wyoming. Even though we all haven't seen each other in years, they greeted me with huge smiles and open arms. Back at their adorable little house we sat on the front porch and talked while eating a wonderful lunch. I gave them a brief run down of what my life has been like for the past two years and they were very amazed... even though they were part of my inspiration. They were the first people I had ever known to travel for extended periods of time. Finally Lisa mentioned that they wanted to take me down to the beach for the afternoon. Brian then asked if I was keen to go for a surf... heck yeah! So we loaded up the boards and headed down to the water. He had a huge board for me to try out and it was so much fun. I caught a few waves, but was very unsteady when i tried to stand. I did get up to my feet a few times, but just long enough to fall off. It was just great to be out there floating around the in the ocean. I kept asking Brian if anything was going to eat me, after all it is Australia. It isn't as safe as New Zealand. But he seemed to think not. After a few hours and some very sore arms, we headed back to the house to start the first feast. Brian put a roast along with some veggies on the Weber (which is really just a charcoal grill) as we talked away more and more. It was so much fun to see them. We finished off the night by me putting them to sleep with Antarctica pictures. I kept telling them we could stop, but they just wanted to see more and more. Finally when both of them were a sleep (I didn't know they were that bad) I called it a night.
In the morning we gave my sister Cori a call to tell her how much fun we were having. They also made up a big old breakfast of pancakes, fresh eggs, and bacon. It was just what we needed to give us energy for another surf. This time we headed further north up the coast to try and find a good spot that Brian knew. Once there we headed out again, but the waves just weren't working for us. We got hit with wave after wave! There was no break and no way to get out. I was swimming and swimming and it just wasn't working. Finally after Brian had even had enough, we decided to head in and change locations. But as I rode the last little bit of wave in (on my stomach of course), I slide off the side and was able to pick up half the sand on the beach with my bikini bottom... not comfy! After getting all cleaned up, we headed to a new spot, that was much better. Brian was able to catch a few great waves and rode them in... I caught a few and was able to get up (briefly) before wiping out. But it was still great fun and I love being out there just splashing around in the water. We then had to rush home and change so that Lisa and Brian could get to their rehearsal. They are both in a local production of South Pacific that was 2 weeks from opening night. I came along and watched the rehearsal and had a bit of a laugh. They are both very good, but since I knew that Brian only auditioned because Lisa dared him... I couldn't stop laughing when he was up there. Lisa has been in a few so knew her way around the stage. I took off after the first act to start getting dinner ready. We had "shrimp on the barbie" along with steaks and veggies. I made a really good sauce to soak the shrimp in. It was such a great feast I was still thinking about it in the morning.
Brian and Lisa had to finally go back to work. So I got up with them to have breakfast and say good bye. I then packed up and headed for the train station back to Sydney.
