After a breakfast date with my friend Bob at the market stalls, I jumped on a bus with Maria (Sweeden) and headed to the beach. I couldn't wait to get into the Pacific Ocean and cool off. I have been so incredibly hot the past few days, I was about to go crazy! We were some of the last people on the bus before it took off. We then changed busses in Rivas to an even more cramped and hot bus. When we arrived in San Jaun del Sur, we picked up Joakim (another Sweedish guy) and headed to the hostel. We changed quick and then it was off to the beach! The water was freezing cool! It felt great! But, it was too cold to stay in for too long and it was really windy so the sand would hurt you. After we were all cooled off, we had a drink while looking at the ocean. We walked around town for a while and got some food for breakfast and dinner. We bummed around for a while until Joakim and I wanted to go down to the beach front for a drink. We had a nice long chat while eating cerviche and drinking the worst strawberry daiquiris ever. They were just rum and strawberry mix... no ice. So they were like drinking straight strawberry concentrate... Yuck! I was able to talk to my sister Cori today and she found it really funny that I was so miserable from the heat. Thanks sis.

The next day we were ready to hit the beach for a day of relaxing and swimming. After a nice cool dip, we settled in on the beach. But it was so freaking windy you couldn't do anything. Our skin was getting sand blasted whenever the wind would pick up. It was really not any fun. Then Maria came up with the best idea of the day... get a bottle of rum and drink rum and coke the rest of the day. So that is what we did. We had to drowned our sorrows somehow. We were all pretty tipsy by around 4 when Bex, Ben and Bob showed up. They were laughing at us pretty hard... especially when I was running around town in my swim suit tying to find the food lady (don't ask). Joakim and I stopped drinking around that time too... he was pretty intoxicated. So by around 8 I was feeling fine and the two of us had some really good pizza for dinner. Maria on the other hand... kept the party going! Every time I would walk in she had a new drinking buddy.

I was happy to be getting out of town the next day and heading to the near by beaches. Maria wasn't so lucky, she was too hung over to leave and had to stay one more night.
