Where I stayed
best albergue on the norte

The one thing on the norte that can be improved is the route. Walking for kilometres on the hard shoulder of the local roads is not fun...even less fun without a hard shoulder on a bendy mountain road. But the seaview make up for it on the nice parts of the route. Big cliffs that jut into the sea are machted by beautifull little sandy beaches. The water is still a bit cold though.

The hostels have been a mixed bag. While sometimes we take private room, we mostly sleep in the places for pilgrims. The best place up till now we have found in Guemes. A big, friendly place with nice clean room and a common meal. I will post pictures as soon as i am able, but this pda and my camera don't work together. The food in Cantabria is a bit more standard then in Basque country, but still better then on the camino frances.
