Is it because I lied when I was 17? I can actually say that now, being 18 and all. The last two days on my "supposed" tropical island paradise has been bucketing cats, dogs and small children constantly. Now, the thing with these islands are they are the most amazing places in the world with infinite possibilities of the most euphoric fun known to man...but only when theres sun. And thats where the problem lies. But considering these are my last two days before my massive three day plane trek around the globe; meeting up with Shuhei, Freya and finally Seb, it has probably been for the best to just laze around, watch Bend it like Beckham with dodgy Japanese dubbing, scribble the incomprehensible thoughts of my decrepit mind, draw Bette Davis (dont ask) and have about 5 naps a day. Its been good. But all good things, must be replaced with infinitely better things. So as I sit here writing this entry, which actually contains no real substance whatsoever, I am trying my darnedest to surpress my incontrollable excitement for what Europa has to offer me. Till then.
Danny.

long flight to europe
Hi. I am glad to hear that you had wonderful days in some southern islands. I have never been to such subtropical islands, Yakushima, Okinawa, Ishigaki-jima, Taketomi-jima. It's a pity that you missed the best full bloom season of Sakura (cherry blossoms) around Tokyo in Kanto area. The first week of April is usually the best every year around here.
I remember my first trip to Europe with my backpack. It was in March just 20 years ago, for only three weeks just before graduation from university.
Wish you a good luck in Europe, too. Hiroyuki
