We arrived into Salta late Friday afternoon after our 10 hour bus journey from San Pedro de Aticama. Salta is a large sophisticated city located in the north of Argentina and on arrival we really noticed the change from Bolivia. The Bolivian side was endless desert and unpaved roads while the Argentinian side had proper four lane highways with green fields on either side.  There were large shopping malls and upper class clothes shops everywhere around the city.

We had a quick look around the town and decided to go for a few drinks in the club/bar area with a few friendly folks from the hostel. A good night was had and for once there no fight in the hostel when we got home.

The sourness would start bright and early Saturday....
We spent the whole of Saturday afternoon looking for the United v Villa game. Brian & Steve followed Pa for nearly 2 hours who refused to look at a map and was adamant he knew where he was going. To Patrick's surprise the game was not being shown live and was in an absolute bull. Brian and Steve could not understand why the game was not been shown, after all Villa held a European cup and were genuine title contenders. To top it all off Pa didn't meet one United fan that day, LOVELY.

We had our breakfast at 5pm and had dinner at 12.30am, the effects of the Argentinian nightlife were starting to kick in already. After a misunderstanding between the Curranīs we didn't go out Saturday night, something we could live to regret.

On Sunday before boarding our 18 hour bus we tested the "enormous" Argentinean steaks. In all honesty they were a bit too big, it was like eating half a Friesian cow.

"They weren't lying about the steaks in Argentina"
