Where I stayed
Mancora is a quiet little town with tuc tucīs constantly buzzing around the town with,as far as we could see, nobody in them. The drivers even let you drive them when you are full of beer for a small fee.
The hostel itself is akin to a holiday resort in the south of Spain with a pool located right beside the bar and the beach literally located outside the front door. Once again our dinners for the six days consisted of different variations of chicken and rice, we will know every type of chicken and rice dish by the time we finish here!!!
Pa and Steve donned the rash vests once more and took to the beach in order to see would they ever stand on a board, but due to the large volumes of people out surfing nearly got buckled on several occasions, clowns.
Most days were spent lazing by the pool and watching some of the best women surfers in the world practice for a tournament which was being held in Mancora around the same time we were there. They provided us with great entertainment.
On one particular night out when the five hardy bucks were having a quiet few scoops, a sheet of plywood came flying off the roof and landed smack on our heads. Being Irish, we all jumped up looking for the person who had thrown it at us. We all got a free beer from the bar, which made us think about maybe loosening another couple of sheets on the roof.
After the weekend we all hopped on a bus and were Lima bound.
