After I woke up I got my laptop out, and replied some emails and had a chat with my mom on MSN..After that around 9:15, I took a long shower, had a shave after 7 days ;) And got finally ride of my itchy beard..
After my shower I was thinking of what to do..I was getting hungry, but the rain was so massive.. So what to do, the supermarket is only 400 meters away. But with rain like this, I will be totally soaked..
But then I thought of that I had a poncho I bought and never used.. So I walked to the supermarket, at some spots I was in the water till almost my knees. The poncho did it's job, as only my wallet got wet..
When I got back I made brunch (Eggs with ham and bread) and met a Swiss couple in the backpackers and had some tea with them.. Till approx 13:00 when I called Ingrid.. In The Netherlands they now have -5 degree Celsius very cold.. brrr..
After my chat with Ingrid around 14:15 the rain stopped.. So we had rain for 18 hours..I wanted to get changed for a run, and the rain started again.. :( So I got my poncho and went for a coffee in town..
After that I went to the supermarket to get some coke and a beer for tonight.. And walked back.. When I was back at the accommodation I still had in mind to go running, but suddenly the rain started to be massive again..
After thinking what to do, I decided to go for a run.. As we also had a power cut, so there was no light in the hostel.. I went for an approx 4 km run.. When I was running suddenly the rain went crazy again.. In 3 seconds totally wet.. Also a car was passing and found it funny to drive to a pond of water trying to make me wet, but as I was wet already it didn't make a difference ;)
After my run I went for a pre-shower in the rain, where the water came of the roof.. Really nice and refreshing.. Massive rain can be fun when the temperature is 24 degree Celsius. After my pre-shower I went for a real shower..
In this backpackers they have the Lorenzetti shower, you see them a lot in central America. I have heard from different people that they got an electrical shock while touching the shower head.
Probably because the heat element is in the shower head, so volts are running though the shower head. When I wanted to put it on cold, I also saw a spark.. Crazy those showers..Next time hands off ;)
After my shower it was approx 17:30, so I updated my blog a bit, listened some music and looked on intermediar.nl for some jobs in Amsterdam. To get a feeling how the job market is in The Netherlands. Pretty weird, looking for jobs, while I still have a 2,5 months of holiday ahead ;)
Around 18:30 the Swiss couple also joined me in the kitchen and told me that the way to Limon is totally flooded.. Hopefully the streets to Panama are still clear, and if not, I just stay here a bit longer ;)
When the Swiss came up.. They made a nice rice meal...And we watched some ted.com and had a chat..Till it was bed time.. Around 1:00..
